the places we went

Doug and I spent a total of five nights and had four full days to explore. Below I share the locations we explored and links for more information on each.

Ocean Drive - close to Mansion row in Newport - worth the drive. Gorgeous views and beautiful landscapes of land and homes.

Mansion tours in Newport. We chose the package of three. Check before you go to see what is open but you can buy tickets on site.

Rosecliff - this one usually closes sooner than the others so we hit it first.

The Breakers - a stunner.

Beavertail Lighthouse and Museum - the Museum was not open nor was the Lighthouse but still worth the visit. Check before you go as they do open the Lighthouse and Museum on specific days each month.

JB's on the Water - short drive from the lighthouse in quaint Jamestown, RI. Beautiful views off the patio and restaurant. And the Lobster Roll was amazing!

Historic Newport - Enjoy shops, great eats, and historical colonial architecture.

One of our favorite meals of the whole trip was at Stoneacre Brasserie - great food and cocktails. And of course, the decor had me at the door. Right in the heart of Newport - just add it to your list while strolling about.

We loved Triverton Four Corners - a historic area not far from our cottage. We frequented there a few times.

The Groundswell Cafe was one of our faves - and the vibes in all their shops were everything. Definitely worth a visit.

The Cliff Walk is a must - lots of places to start and places to explore. Definitely worth the trip.

A few other favorites not pictured:

Dinner at The Red Dory & The Boathouse in Tiverton, RI
